A Note from Deaconess Elizabeth: Greetings in the name of Christ!

I have had a wonderful time serving and growing with all of you here at Timothy! Unfortunately, my time here is coming to a close. Soon, my year-long internship will end and I will have to bid you all a farewell for now. I will greatly miss all the people that I have met and friends I have made here at Timothy!

Thank you so much for welcoming me into your church, your school, and your homes! Everywhere I go, I am greeted with a welcoming smile and open arms. I have learned so much from my time at Timothy, and from you, the congregation! Even though I’m not here on Sundays, I have treasured each and every opportunity that I had to get to know you more and more.

So what’s next for me? As a deaconess intern, this is the end of my schooling. Unlike vicars, deaconesses don’t have to go back to the Seminary for another year of schooling. I was eligible for a call on Call Day this past April, and that call is still pending. My husband is a pastor at Zion Lutheran, in Valley Park, which means we will stay in the St. Louis area. I will continue to support him and his ministry at Zion while I continue to wait and search for the next step in God’s master plan for my life.

Even though the future is uncertain, there is certainty in the steadfastness of our God. He guides our steps through life. In Him we live, move, and breathe! Whatever plan he has for our lives, yours and mine, it is for our good! I know whatever God has in store for me will be excellent and seek to glorify His name.

So, here it is. Not a goodbye, but a farewell for now! I hope to see you again, either in person, or when we are reunited again in the presence of our Lord!

I leave you with the Jude doxology:

Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
