This year our Sunday Christian Education theme is F.A.I.T.H., which is an acronym for Faith Active In The Home. We think of Sunday worship and Sunday School as the launching pad for a week of faith activity. Since we don’t leave Jesus at church, we want to acknowledge Him as the Savior who is with us every day.
Does this mean Sunday School is less important? No, as with any aircraft the lift off needs a lot of fuel to get off the ground. We pray that Sunday at church is a lift off that allows you to soar throughout the week in your role as a family growing in Christ. In fact, that is why we went from a Sunday School Opening to a Sunday School Closing. Children share what they learned each week at 10:15am in the gym, which allows you to hear and follow up. Perhaps they can tell you more in the car on the way home. In the evening this Bible learning can be part of your meal prayer or bedtime devotion.
If the pastoral staff or any of our Sunday School teachers can be helpful to you in your role as primary faith educator for your child(ren), please let us know. We are here for you. We hope to have good communication home about what children are learning each week to help launch your faith at home activity!
