Timothy's Church Council met on Tuesday, November 8th for their monthly meeting.
- The budget committee of Holly Feldman, Greg Poppitz, and Peter Oschwald reported on their review of the proposed budget. The Council will review the proposed budget in anticipation of approval at the December meeting, then submitting it to the congregation for approval.
- The Council reviewed financial reports on our commercial properties across the street, which are now generating monthly income.
- If you are still eligible for Thrivent Action Team grants this year, please contact the church office so those funds can be put to use by our various ministries. · Improvements to the balcony are being planned that would move the two remaining pews and create a level floor mirroring the west side of the balcony. This will provide more space for audio/visual equipment and musicians. If you would like to be involved in that project, please contact me.
- Three of the nine council positions expire each year. Holly Feldman and I have agreed to run for another three-year term. We will need at least one more person to fill the seat held by John Loum for the past six years. We also need one new person to serve on the Word of Life School Board, as Priscilla Williams has termed-out. With three members serving three-year terms on the school board, one term expires each year. If you are interested in serving in either of these roles, please contact Margaret Rall.
- With the triennial synodical convention occurring in 2023, the nominating and election process will soon begin. Timothy has the right to nominate candidates for synodical president and vice presidents. Please contact me if you would like to suggest a nominee.
- We are all looking forward to the Weihnachtsmarkt on December 3rd and hope to see you there! Thank you to the Steenbocks, Wohlstadters, and many others for all your hard work and preparation for this great church and community event!
Our next Council meeting will be at 6:30 on Tuesday, December 13th and we have scheduled a Voters' meeting, including budget approval and elections, for January 8th. We hope to see you there as well!
