"We have been busy with students in these first couple of weeks and we’re very grateful to you, our Timothy family, for your gifts to the png fund. We’ve been able to get foam mattresses and blankets for students who came in from the bush places with nothing. We’ve also purchased meds for a child with impetigo and an older pastor with ulcers. The medical care here is minimal at best. Sorcery has calmed down , but tribal fighting is constant. So often students are unable to get here when classes start because of fighting between clans making it unsafe for them to travel. Fatalities were fewer when only spears and axes were in play. Now machine guns are available. Prayers for peace and an end to tribal warfare are needed!
It’s a blessing to see Ron back in the pulpit—here at the Sem and in different congregations every week. His schedule is full until we return home. I'm teaching social studies this term to the seminarians. Most have not traveled out of the highlands, so it has been fun to expand their horizons to include the whole world. One of our favorite times is still the hour long morning chapel—a great way to start the day, and we end the days with you in our prayers!"
