We wanted to let you know about a new mission outreach we’ve been doing for Vietnamese speaking people around the world. Before Lent started, Pastor Chau translated the Lutheran Hour Ministries’ Lenten devotions into Vietnamese. Then we put them up on our new website, https://thuongde.org/ , which means basically “God.org” in English. Anyone who wants can download them there, or the new materials we are working on (catechism, sermons, other Christian material, and a chat area) this summer. Chau also read them out loud on his YouTube channel (@PastorChauVo) every day for those who cannot see or who cannot read well. We couldn’t afford advertising, but nevertheless, God has used this outreach, and we’ve had at least 25 downloads for the written devotions and up to nearly 300 views on some of the daily devotion episodes. Most of the viewers are coming from Vietnam.
We are continuing to put up Chau’s Vietnamese sermons every week, and will keep making new material, especially the Advent devotions at the end of this year. Please pray for us, as the mission field is very ripe, and the Evil One likes nothing more than to make trouble for new outreach efforts, often by targeting our family or the church. If you’d like to ask questions, please do! Or come and visit us—Vietnamese worship goes on in the basement room from 9:30 to 10:45 every Sunday.
Thank you! Pastor Chau, Kari, and James
